Ace Ferguson - The Kindest Lil' Shop In Fernie, BC

Updated: Aug 3

This is Kate...

This is Ace...

Ace kicks ass!!

Get on the bus?!?

"Hell yeah!!"

Ace Ferguson is the best little shop ever. Ace is Kate Moran's rollin' shop on wheels that she converted out of a school bus a few years ago. It's so bad-ass, you don't even know! I got a thing for buses for sure as they're so prevalent within the little world I've had my head buried in for my entire adult life, so I was super psyched to see what she had done with it after hearing about the process, and maaan, did Ace ever not disappoint!

Kate did an amazing job! It wasn't without some tests of will (there's actually a mini-saga in there), but she held strong, stuck to the vision, and holy smokes, did it ever turn out fantastic!

It's subtly bright space that gives the impression of an opened up feeling, so it doesn't seem stuffy like some converted buses can. Ace is actually the exact opposite, because it is oooh so cozy! So cozy!!

Fennario sure wasn't shy about makin' herself at home, and she's shy about everything...

As soon as you round the little front stairs you get hit by this onslaught of warmth. It's undeniable, and absolutely front and centre. I gotta say, as a consumer, it's always nice to walk into somewhere and feel immediately comfortable and at ease...where kindness just permeates the air. Of course, this is all because of the person that Kate is. The space she has created is simply a reflection of her personality. You see, Kate is another one of those beautiful people I've been lucky enough to come across in life. I'm constantly baffled by the amount of amazing people that I keep stumbling into. Quite fantastic, really...

The other thing that Kate has goin' for her, aside from super kind humanism, is a light's out, can't even believe it artistic sense. She is sooo good at anything she does. If you watch her, you see it's this unreal naturalness with the way she creates. Anything she picks up, tries out, gets into...I guarantee you that she's gonna bring the heat and do it well!

I love the shop she has put together. Most of all, I love seeing all her different mediums of art on display. I love watching pure talent in action, whatever that may be, but I also have my own personal ties to art creating, so when I've been lucky enough to see Kate making whatever she is, I take time to consciously appreciate what she's doing.

I think everyone should take pause in the presence of someone who is taking something difficult and making it not just look effortless, but also graceful in that effortlessness. I've always found an inspired radiance when I come across that kind of thing, so I pay attention to it. Kate is up in that realm of depth of skill that melts away difficulty to give a deceiving sense of ease. It's really something to watch.

I actually take pause in awe of Kate when I am fortunate enough to see her doing her thing. What can I say, I appreciate amazing!

Did I say Kate is super kind?!

Totally true story...

Yaaaay for beautiful humans...

I'll let the rest speak for itself...

I've been pushing for a VW Bus with Surfboards on the roof in this series of prints...

Sweet paper weight...

So Bad Ass!!

Rollin' Old-School...

Bus Stash...

Home Stash...

Fennario was pretty happy. She likes Kate. Kate likes her. It's a pretty sweet deal, but alas, the time has come...

Good-Bye Kisses...

You can find Ace Ferguson Studios parked downtown Fernie, in the BC Rockies during the snowless season.
